The 1975 have become the latest band to postpone a tour.

The band shared the news on Twitter, writing: “It is with great regret that we have to reschedule the 1975’s upcoming North American tour for the health and safety of our fans and crew.

“We are in the process of scheduling new shows and will be announcing as soon as possible. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honoured for the new dates when we have them. We will continue to keep you posted on future shows.”

The tour was due to begin on 27 April at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Texas.

The announcement follows many other similar ones from bands across the world, who are being drastically affected by the social distancing measures being deployed to stop the spread of coronavirus.

This morning, it was also announced that Glastonbury 2020 will not go ahead. Despite the organisers’ best efforts, the challenge and uncertainty involved meant putting the festival on was not feasible.
