AC/DC have released a clip capturing their 1979 live performance of Whole Lotta Rosie on Dutch TV show Countdown. This video is the third in a string of Countdown performance releases – including Highway To Hell and The Jack – that celebrate the 40th anniversary of Highway To Hell.

The video features the classic AC/DC line-up of late frontman Bon Scott, Angus and Malcom Young, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd putting on a high-octane performance for a packed venue. It’s the first time the Countdown clips have been officially released online, as they were originally only issued on the band’s 2007 DVD box set, Plug Me In.

The release of the vintage Countdown performances is a welcome treat for fans of the Australian hard rock legends, who have been on hiatus for the past two years. The band recently stoked rumours of a possible new world tour by uploading a poster of their 1979 Germany concert on Instagram.
