Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry are set to join actors Mike Myers and Dana Carvey in a virtual Wayne’s World reunion.

The reunion, which airs later today (9am PT, 7 December), comes as part of actor Josh Gad’s Reunited Apart YouTube series. The event will be hosted in support of the First Responder’s Children’s Foundation.

Reunited Apart celebrates cult films of the 80s and on, reuniting the casts of films such as Ferris Bueller’s Day OffGhostbusters and The Goonies for an all-encompassing virtual discussion.

Aerosmith announced their involvement in the upcoming Wayne’s World episode in an Instagram post over the weekend (5 December).

“‘Sibilance… Sibilance’ Surprise… We were ‘worthy enough’ to reunite with our friends Wayne and Garth!”, they wrote.

Wayne’s World based on a sketch that first appeared on Saturday Night Live, was released in 1991. The movie follows heavy metal fanatics Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar, played by Myers and Carvey respectively, who run a public-access television show in Aurora, Illinois.

The movie was also notable for coining a number of popular phrases widely referenced within the rock music subculture, including “No Stairway, denied!” and “We’re not worthy!”

A sequel, Wayne’s World 2, was released in 1993 and featured guest appearances from Aerosmith. Tyler, Perry, guitarist Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer also performed Dude (Looks Like A Lady) and Shut Up and Dance in the movie.
