Metal stalwarts Avenged Sevenfold are set to release their first album in seven years with the new LP Life Is But a Dream.

Set to arrive 2 June via Warner Records, the album’s announcement was accompanied by the new six-minute first single from the record, Nobody, and its stop-motion music video. Synyster Gates closes the track with an explosive solo brimming with smooth arpeggios.

According to Rolling Stone, the record draws inspiration from the 1942 Albert Camus novella The Stranger, and was written over the last four years.

The group are also set to hold two arena concerts to celebrate the release of Nobody, with the first set to be held on 9 June at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The second concert will be held on 23 June at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with tickets for both shows going on sale this 17 March.

Avenged Sevenfold last released new music in 2018 in the form of Mad Hatter, the latest in a long and fruitful collaboration with video game series Call Of Duty. The single was later released as part of an EP titled Black Reign that collected all of the band’s previous collaborations with the series.
