Big Thief have debuted a new song, entitled Simulation Swarm, in the form of a solo performance from Adrianne Lenker posted on Instagram.

The debut comes after the band’s year on pause in 2020 (initially slated to be busy with touring), which itself followed the double-release year of 2019, in which they released U.F.O.F. and Two Hands.

Although Big Thief weren’t that active in 2020, Lenker released her solo record Songs And Instrumentals and guitarist Buck Meek released his, Two Saviors. Drummer James Krivchenia also released an ambient album called A New Found Relaxation last summer.

There’s no release date for a studio version of Simulation Swarm or the album it’s taken from as of yet, but until then you can take a look at Lenker’s solo performance below.
