Chris Cornell’s last completed studio album, No One Sings Like You Anymore, has been released and is available to stream now.

The album, which takes its name from Soundgarden‘s Black Hole Sun, features 10 covers that the late musician put together with producer Brendan O’Brien in 2016. O’Brien is known for mixing the grunge band’s highly acclaimed 1993 record, Superunknown.

The covers span tunes from the likes of John Lennon, Janis Joplin and Prince. No One Sings Like You Anymore also includes Cornell’s rendition of the Guns N’ Roses’ song Patience, which released earlier this year and earned the late singer his first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Chart.

Vicky Cornell, Chris’ widow, called the release a “bittersweet” affair. “This album is so special because it is a complete work of art that Chris created from start to finish,” she said in a statement. “His choice of covers provides a personal look into his favourite artists and the songs that touched him. He couldn’t wait to release it.”

“This moment is bittersweet because he should be here doing it himself, but it is with both heartache and joy that we share this special album.”

Toni Cornell, the Soundgarden frontman’s second daughter, remembered her father during the time he was working on the album.

“When my dad was making this album, it was so fun,” she recalled. “I remember waking up in the morning, having breakfast with him and going with him into the studio.”

“We would take our piano lessons there, and Christopher [the late musician’s son] would play video games with Brendan and my dad. We got to experience so much with him and have so many amazing memories. I’m really happy to be sharing this album. We love you, daddy.”

Fans looking to pick up a physical copy of No One Sings Like You Anymore will be pleased to know that CD and vinyl editions will launch on 19 March 2021. Pre-orders are available now on Chris’ web store.
