David Hasselhoff’s long-awaited heavy metal track has finally dropped. In Through The Night, the Hoff throws the horns with Austrian metal duo CueStack.

The song arrived after two years of collaboration as well as a Kickstarter campaign to fund the completion of an epic, cyberpunk-themed music video. Footage of the Hoff was shot in Vienna in 2019; he laid down his vocal track during the same trip.

The band funded the entire project themselves up to the editing phase, in order to “avoid giving up any creative freedom when it comes to the song and music video”, they wrote in their initial Kickstarter announcement.

“With a limited budget and schedule, we had to shoot the entire video with David in just one day,” they stated. “That means we had to build much smaller versions of the sets we actually had in mind.”

The Kickstarter campaign set its sights on raising €6,000 by 1 December; it hit that goal after one day and ended up raising €19,654. In a letter announcing the campaign’s success, the band expressed gratitude to backers.

“We wanted to let you know that we are truly grateful for your support,” they wrote. “We are overwhelmed with all the great feedback we are getting for our project with David Hasselhoff and we can’t wait to start the production and shipping of our rewards for you.”

CueStack’s EP is available digitally through Amazon Music or in a physical edition through CueStack’s online store.
