Deep Purple have announced a new live album, Live in Rome 2013.

As its name suggests, it was recorded on the Now What?! tour of 2013. Now What?! was the group’s first album since founding member Jon Lord’s death in 2012.

The album features hits from across the band’s career, including Smoke on the Water, Hush, and Strange Kind Of Woman. Deep Purple are known for blending elements of progressive and classic rock in their sound, and for their constant touring schedule – since their inception in 1968, they have embarked on 29 tours.

The album is the second in the band’s current series of live albums, the first being Live in Newcastle 2001, released earlier this year. The series is focusing on the band’s last 30 years of performing around the world. Live in Rome 2013 will be available  on 6 December this year as a numbered, limited-edition CD digipak, a limited-edition coloured 3LP vinyl, and digitally.
