Deftones have announced a new North American tour, supported by Gojira and Poppy.

The 20-date tour commences on 27 July in Portland, Oregan, and will continue throughout the summer before ending in Denver, Colorado on 5 September. The tour is likely to coincide with the alt-metal outfit’s forthcoming album, which vocalist Chino Moreno confirmed would be released sometime this year.

“I’m hoping that [the new album will be out] earlier on in the year, but I feel like once I give a definitive answer or speculate exactly when, I feel like we’ll be held to it so I kind of want to continue on,” Moreno said in an interview with NBC 7 San Diego “Of course, it’ll be out next year, hopefully earlier than later. Our biggest thing is making sure that it’s good. We’ll be performing it, once it’s out, for the next two or three years, so we want to be sure it’s the best it can be and want to make everyone happy – including ourselves.”
