Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has announced details of a new solo album, entitled Earthling. The first single from the album Long Way has also been released, featuring former Red Hot Chili Peppers member Josh Klinghoffer on guitar and piano, and current Chili Peppers member Chad Smith on drums.

Alongside the Chili Peppers members, producer Andrew Watt appears on the track to play guitar. Watt is best known for his production and guitar work with a number of names. He produced and played guitar on Ozzy Osbourne’s recent solo record Ordinary Man and Miley Cyrus’ recent record Plastic Hearts to name just two.

Aside from the first single and the album’s name, there are no other official details about Earthling at the moment. No release date has been announced as of yet, either.

Other recent releases from Vedder include his appearance on Tom Morello’s new solo album. Morello’s cover of Highway To Hell also features Bruce Springsteen alongside Vedder. The full new record from Morello, The Atlas Underground Fire, is set to arrive on 15 October. The album’s tracklist is packed full of guests, including Mike Posner, Damian Marley, Bring Me The Horizon and more.

Aside from listening to it on streaming, you can preorder a special limited-edition 7-inch vinyl featuring Long Way, as well as the upcoming single from the record The Haves. The single can be preordered here, and includes a digital download.
