The Flaming Lips and Deap Vally have announced a collaborative album under the name Deap Lips.
The self-titled record will feature Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips, and both Deap Vally members Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards. It will be released on 13 March 2020. You can listen to the lead single from the record, Hope Hell High, below.
The Flaming Lips have a history of full collaborative LPs, having previously teamed up with Neon Indian, Miley Cyrus, and Stardeath & White Dwarf for records, including a full cover of The Dark Side of the Moon.
The news comes soon after the announcement of the Flaming Lips’ first ever live album, which arrived on 29 November this year.
Deap Vally’s latest album, Femejism, was released in 2016, following their 2013 debut Sistrionix.
