Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is set to launch his own podcast, titled This Little Light where the rocker will share an array of musical memories alongside special guests.

The podcast will be released in 15 parts, and is set to premiere on 30 March this year. According to Rolling Stone, some of the first guests will be Rick Rubin, Cynthia Erivo, Thundercat, Patti Smith, and Margo Price.

Reportedly, the conversations will largely focus on guests’ discussing their first teachers, early influences, musical experiences, and how each went on to shape them into the artists they are today.

A portion of the proceeds made from This Little Light will go to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit music school and organisation that Flea founded in 2001. Funding will aid the programme’s operating costs and scholarships.

“I wanted to do This Little Light to benefit my music school, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music,” Flea said in a statement, via RS. “The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music and embarking on a musical journey for your life. Everybody’s path is so different, and it’s fascinating to learn how every musician came to music and developed their study of it over time.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers will embark on a world tour in March following the release of the band’s recent albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen, which both landed in 2022. Find out more at redhotchilipeppers.com.
