Gibson celebrates 40th anniversary of AC/DC’s Back In Black with livestreamed event

Gibson will be commemorating the 40th anniversary of AC/DC’s Back In Black this year with a livestreamed celebration, featuring artist performances, tutorials and testimonials. The celebration takes place this Friday, 24 July at 5:00pm Eastern Time (10:00pm BST).

Back in Black 40th Anniversary: A Virtual Celebration will be held over Consequence Of Sound’s Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitch channels.

The event will be hosted by Jared James Nichols, and feature appearances from a host of esteemed rockers including Slash, Sebastian Bach, members of Alice In Chains, Cage The Elephant, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Trivium, Airbourne, Refused and many more.

To kick off the festivities, Gibson, along with event partners Consequence Of Sound, Sony and SoloDallas, have launched a giveaway contest exclusive to US and Canadian residents.

Its extravagant prizes include a Gibson Custom Shop ‘61 Les Paul SG “Red Devil”; two Gibson SG Standards in ebony; a Marshall JTM45 (Modded by SoloDallas to sound akin to the JTM50 Angus Young used on Back In Black), and more.

Meanwhile, AC/DC have been celebrating Back In Black’s 40th anniversary with special video uploads for fans, including rare archived concert footage, as well as a mini documentary series that explores the songwriting behind the acclaimed album.
