Green Day have released archival footage taken from their 1996 European tour, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their record Insomniac.

Insomniac was Green Day’s fourth studio album, and was released on 10 October 1995. It featured such songs as Brain Stew, Jaded and Walking Contradiction.

The 20-minute set of archival footage, which you can watch above, features performances from a Prague show from the album’s supporting European tour. There’s also a few bits of pieces of backstage and tour chat, alongside the tracks Stuck With Me, Brat, Walking Contradiction, Brain Stew, Geek Stink Breath, 86 and Jaded.

Writing below the video, the band said: “It’s the Insomniac 25th Anniversary!! So we wanted to do something special, so here is the biggest glimpse ever into the Insomniac era tours from 1995-96.

“Never-before-seen footage from Europe 95 tour and Live concert in Prague shot on 16mm film in Europe 1996 with the fateful last shows on tour before returning home to go back into the studio for Nimrod album sessions. Enjoy!”

The band are reissuing Insomniac to celebrate its 25th anniversary, with the release set to include recordings from the same Prague live show. Unfortunately due to production delays caused by coronavirus, the vinyl edition of the reissue is not expected to ship until early 2021.
