Weezer have released their latest track from their upcoming record Van Weezer, which as the name implies, is inspired by old-school glam rock and metal.

The new single, Need Some Of That, references listening to Aerosmith and Marshall stacks, bolstering the lightning-soaked imagery and Van Halen-esque “W” logo the band has adopted for the release with some lyrical nods. Stylistically, it’s certainly closer to hair-metal that Ok, Human, Weezer’s last album. This record sported a baroque-pop sound, alongside a a 38-piece orchestra.

You can listen to the new track below.

The release follows the band announced a collaboration with iRobot, manufacturer of the Roomba robot hoover.

The unlikely collaboration means that five lucky Weezer fans are in for a chance of winning a “Wroomba,” a Weezer-themed Roomba i7 robot vacuum cleaner. Decked out with a custom top designed to look like a CD, underneath the Weezer theming the hoover is indeed capable of all of the things a regular Roomba can do.

Van Weezer will arrive on 7 May, and can be preordered here.
