Idles gave fans a glimpse of their anticipated third album on Saturday (7 December), previewing the new track Grounds at their show at London’s Alexandra Palace. You can watch a snippet of the song below:

The sold-out show was the band’s biggest crowd to date, after a UK tour from the band. They are set to keep playing live next year, lending support to Pearl Jam on their 2020 European tour.

Idles’ next record, slated for a 2020 release, will feature the Bad Seeds’ Warren Ellis and follows 2017’s Brutalism and 2018’s Joy as an Act of Resistance. Joy saw a Mercury Prize nomination for the band and rocketed their politically-charged joyful punk into the mainstream.

Idles are also involved in Fender Next. In our interview with Fender’s Neil Whitcher, he told us what he likes about their unique guitar approach: “They’re not shredding, they’re not overly high gain but they’re very loud. And they do with the level of passion and commitment that you don’t see very often.”
