Jackson Browne has released a new song in celebration of Earth Day (22 April), entitled Downhill From Everywhere.

The song has been featured in the trailer for the documentary, The Story Of Plastic, which looks in-depth at the crisis of plastic pollution and the global effect it’s having on the environment and inhabitants. look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it. The documentary premiered yesterday, (22 April) on the Discovery Channel.

Browne is on the Executive Advisory Board of the Plastic Pollution Coalition, an alliance that strives for a future free of single-use plastic. Speaking to Rolling Stone about the issue, he said: “Plastic is a great and really useful thing, for medical uses for instance. But it’s just absurd that we use it to deliver things like water. That bottle will be around for hundreds of years and does not biodegrade. This movement has got a lot of attention and a lot of support, because it’s so visible now.

“It’s no longer something that can be sort of swept under the rug.”

Downhill From Everywhere, alongside the previously-released A Little Soon to Say, will be included on Jackson Browne’s next studio record, set to arrive this autumn.
