Jeff Schroeder has revealed that Smashing Pumpkins are working on not one, but two new full-length records.

Schroeder made the comments in a video chat with Yamaha, the first of its On the Bench Artist Check-in series, which also covered a general chat about guitars, gear and music.

Speaking to Yamaha Senior Guitar Designer and Luthier Pat Campolattano, Schroeder notes that despite the cancellations of many of Smashing Pumpkins plans for 2020 (including supporting Guns N’ Roses), he’s still occupying himself despite being offstage, saying: “Although I’m a musician and being onstage is one of the greatest things we get to do I’m still lucky I get to be productive.” Schroeder also noted he’s not the only band member staying busy, as Billy Corgan is also working on a double album for release later this year, as well as a further full-length.

Schroeder says in the video: “Billy has already started working on another new album. We have actually 20 news songs coming out this year that we just finished kind of right before this all started, and he’s taking the time to get the ball rolling on even another new album. So once we can all get together and work on that we’ll try to even do some more music since there’s some time.” Take a look at the episode below:

Yamaha’s upcoming On The Bench live stream will feature with Rival Sons Scott Holiday, where he will be discussing his custom Revstar. Tune in over at Yamaha’s YouTube channel.
