Country star Jeffrey Foucalt has recorded an online bottleneck slide lesson, in partnership with Mule Resophonic Guitars, in light of the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement follows his cancellation of both his US and UK tours, including shows in Phoenix, Santa Monica and Aberdeen amongst others.

Foucault announced the lesson via his Instagram page: “JEFFREY FOUCAULT: BASICS OF BOTTLENECK SLIDE GUITAR LESSON AT MULE RESOPHONIC GUITARS

“My friend Matt Eich – who founded @muleresonatorguitars in Saginaw, Michigan, and built both the steel tricone resophonic guitar, and steel body electric Mulecaster I play on the road – asked me if I would record a basic bottleneck slide guitar lesson for Mule HQ. I just happened to have the recording rig set up in my office, on the assumption that I wouldn’t be able to fish every day of my quarantine, and so I tried my hand at a lesson, now up online for a nominal fee.

“If you always wanted to try open-tuned guitar, or bottleneck slide, but couldn’t figure out how to make it feel or sound right, this lesson should give you the basic primer. If you just want to see what my face looks like when I try to concentrate and speak clearly at 9 a.m., again, you are in luck. If this generates any interest, and it keeps raining, I may do another one, and get into more depth of field.”

Following the announcement of his online lesson, Foucault also announced a live performance from his home, titled The Parlor Room sessions, where he streamed live directly to his followers. The concert is also available to watch online here.
