PBS has uploaded the entirety of John Prine’s 2018 performance on the Austin City Limits show. Take a look below:
Prine passed away due to complications related to coronavirus last week, at the age of 73. Since his death, tributes from around the world of music have rolled in, including from Roger Waters, Bonnie Raitt and Phoebe Bridgers. He has been remembered as one of the most influential songwriters of all time, with his eloquent style resonating with musicians young and old alike.
He earned numerous prestigious accolades over his five-decade career, including the Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award, two Grammy wins for Best Contemporary Folk Album, a place in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and the PEN New England Song Lyrics Of Literary Excellence Award.
The performance was in support of Prine’s final album, Tree of Forgiveness, which was released earlier in 2018.
