The take has been unearthed for Dylan’s latest Bootleg Series release.
The first take of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan’s recording of Wanted Man has been unearthed, the first song to be released as part of Dylan’s upcoming Bootleg Series Vol. 15. Listen Above.
The song itself was written by Dylan for Cash to sing. This particular recording is unpolished, and Cash can be heard laughing as he and Dylan fail to completely sync up what cities they’re singing. The video also features a snippet of a conversation between Johnny Cash and June Carter.
The set is available as a three-CD, three-LP, or digital configuration. Two of the three discs in the collection are focused on Dylan’s collaborations with Johnny Cash.
