Julien Baker has performed three of the songs from her latest album Little Oblivions live during an appearance on CBS This Morning.

Baker’s performance took place during the Saturday Sessions portion of the show. Accompanied by a four-piece backing band, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter tore through the songs Faith Healer, Hardline and Heatwave.

Little Oblivions is the third studio album from Baker and the first arranged for a full band.

Speaking to Guitar.com, Baker shared that the evolution in her sound stemmed from a desire to create something that was different from her first two records, Sprained Ankle and Turn Out The Lights.

“If you’d been doing something for four years, you’d want to do it differently,” she said. “It’s like Springsteen puts out Nebraska or Dylan going electric, and all of a sudden people are like, ‘What’s going on!?’ Well, they’re just musicians doing something different… but I felt tortured about it!”

In support of Little Oblivions’ release, Baker has announced a livestream performance, hosted on Audiotree’s virtual concert series Staged, on 25 March. The gig will be broadcast from Analog, a performance venue at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
