Singer Emma Ruth Rundle, Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher, YOB bassist Aaron Rieseberg, and Old Man Gloom drummer Santos Montano have joined forces for a cover of the Kate Bush song Running Up That Hill. Although it sounds like a series of names picked randomly out of a musical hat, the combination of alternative musicians and Kate Bush is indeed real – take a look above.

The cover was put together by alt late-night-show Two Minutes To Late Night, which specialises in this sort of thing – see also Chelsea Wolfe covering Ozzy Osbourne, Clutch covering AC/DC and High On Fire covering Guns N’ Roses. The show’s host Jordan Olds (AKA Gwarsenio Hall) also contributes some backing vocals.

The cover has been recorded from the various artists’ homes, given the ongoing lockdown. Gwwarsenio Hall urges viewers to donate to the show’s Patreon, proceeds from which go to the musicians involved in the video. As he notes, “It’s a difficult time for musicians now.”

Alongside this, the description urges those who can to donate to bail funds: “Hello friends, we decided to release this video on schedule even though our country is in turmoil because we wanted to honor the hard work of our guest musicians and to give our fans a respite from the horrors of the fascist police state. In lieu of donating to our Patreon, we ask you to consider making a donation to the protestor bail funds for your local city (we’ve listed some of the major ones below). Please take a moment to acknowledge our many friends who cannot enjoy any kind of video right now. Black Lives Matter. Rest in power George Floyd and the many other victims of systemic oppression.”
