Keith Richards has teased new music, possibly from The Rolling Stones, in his latest update from the studio.
Richards revealed that he’s back in the studio with an update on social media channels on Friday (5 February), which showed a picture of him playing a vintage hollowbody Hofner bass guitar.
Writing above the image, Richards said: “About last night! New music on the horizon!” The Roling Stones’ account retweeted the post, leading to speculation that the new music is being written for the band, not a solo project.

Last year, Richards revealed that the band hadn’t established any concrete plans for their upcoming 60th anniversary, which happens in 2022, aside from Richard’s hope that they’ll “still actually all be alive.” At the time, he also spoke about the Stones’ next album, which he said was “halfway in the works before shit hit the fan”. “I was trying to progress a few things along,” he said. “But there’s not a lot one can really do except wait for the vaccine.”
