Texas musical trio Khruangbin have issued So We Won’t Forget, the second single – following Time (You And I) – off their band’s forthcoming LP, Mordechai. The track was released with an accompanying video: a narrative-driven piece set in Japan, shot by Scott Dungate. Take a look above.

Along with the song’s release, the band issued a brief statement, “Memory is a powerful thing,” they said. “Now more than ever it’s important to tell the people you love that you love them, so that they don’t forget.”

The band have announced the relaunch of AirKhruang – a playlist curation tool which generates custom Spotify playlists, based on a series of “flight themed” questions. Try it out yourself, here.

The band’s forthcoming Mordechai features 10 tracks and is set to release through Dead Oceans on 26 June. The LP is said to more prominently feature vocals; contrasting the bands mostly instrumental discography.

On the shift in musicality, label Dead Oceans wrote: “It’s a shift that rewards the risk, reorienting Khruangbin’s transportive sound toward a new sense of emotional directness, without losing the spirit of nomadic wandering that’s always defined it.”

Earlier this year also saw the release of Khruangbin’s collaborative EP with Leon Bridges, entitled Texas Sun.
