Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has revealed that he’s currently working on three separate albums, one of which will feature Metallica’s lead player Kirk Hammett.

The album is called Blessings And Miracles, and is (according to Santana) “90 per cent completed.” He told ABC News Radio Online that “my brother Kirk Hammett from Metallica is playing [on it]. He’s tearing it up.” Alongside Hammett, Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover and singer-keyboardist Steve Winwood are set to appear on the record/.

Santana reflected that” “I just feel really, really grateful. I’m 73 and because of this time that I’m allowed to just replenish and nourish.”

We don’t know what kind of contributions Hammett has made, but it’s safe to say that they won’t necessarily be wah-soaked shred solos. Hammett has often spoken about the diversity of his guitar skills, and how Metallica isn’t the best platform for him to show the world this non-metal playing. Speaking to St Vincent in 2019, he said: “I can play a lot of different stuff. I’ll play some jazz, bossa nova, blues, gypsy jazz, fucking Eastern European ballads. I play all that stuff. But no one knows I can play this stuff”.

No further official details for Blessings And Miracles have been announced, but if it is indeed “90 per cent completed,” details may be forthcoming soon.
