Fender has released the latest performance showcasing its Acoustasonic Stratocaster – the hybrid guitar that combines the disparate playing feels and tones of electric and acoustic guitars into one axe. This performance features singer-songwriter and guitarist Lindsay Ell.

As per her signature eclectic style that mixes in rock, pop and blues into her country paying, she shows off the Acoustasonic Strat’s different tones with everything from melodic tapping, soulful blues lead and fuzzed-out riffs. Take a look at the performance above.

Ell last released a solo album in 2018, The Continuum Project. This was followed by the release of her latest single I Don’t Love You, which arrived late last year.

In our review of the Acoustasonic Stratocaster, we noted that no combination of the worlds of electric and acoustic guitars will ever be able to perfectly capture the magic of both – but despite the piezo bite and the lack of the electric neck-pickup sound, the Acoustic Stratocaster cemented itself as an entirely different beast with its own unique musical character.
