Listen: Slash dedicates cover of Love Story theme to late friend Robert Evans

Evans, who died October 2019, was known for his work on classic films such as Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby and The Godfather.

Slash has shared an instrumental cover of Where Do I Begin? – the theme from the 1970 film Love Story – in tribute to his late friend and the movie’s producer Robert Evans.

The guitarist performed his cover of the popular movie theme song using a combination of acoustic and electric guitars. Take a listen to it above.

A clip of Slash laying down the cover tune were also shared onto Instagram back in September by his girlfriend, Meegan Hodges. Take a look at them below:

Evans, who died October 2019, was also known for his work on classic films such as Chinatown, Rosemary’s Baby and The Godfather. Slash also regularly incorporated Speak Softly Love (the tune widely recognised as The Godfather Theme) into his live sets.

While Guns N’ Roses fans will have to be just a little patient to see the band back on the road again – due to COVID-19 – Slash has kept busy this year with several recording projects. Most recently, he made a guest appearance on Tom Morello’s surprise EP, Comandante, playing on the song Interstate 80.

Back in July, the guitarist also gave an update on the long-awaited Guns N’ Roses reunion album, saying that he’s been hunkering down and “just focusing on writing new music and recording demos and [guitar stuff] for Guns.”

When Guitar.com spoke to the guitarist back in January, he also credited the album’s delay partly to the “nature of the industry right now.”

He elaborated: “There’s a handful people who said, ‘Yeah, make a record and go old school’. And there’s a handful of people that are like, ‘We don’t even know what buying a record is any more!’”
