Listen to Sleater-Kinney’s new song, ANIMAL
Hot off the heels of The Center Won’t Hold.
American rock band Sleater-Kinney have released a new song, ANIMAL.You can listen to the standalone single above.
The release comes just a few months after the release of their ninth studio album, The Center Won’t Hold, and precedes a 2020 tour from the band. Drumming on the single is Janet Weiss, who left the band earlier this year. The group debuted new drummer Angie Boylan early last month at Hopscotch Music Festival.
Corin Tucker said of the single: “ANIMAL is a song about rebellion, retaliation and rage. It is a song about letting go of all politeness and filters and letting the ‘animal’ side speak. The vocals for this song were recorded in St. Vincent’s home studio, a perfect place to unleash a voice like this.”
St Vincent also produced the song. Sleater-Kinney, as well as touring the UK and Europe in 2020, are just about to embark on a tour across the US
