Gibson has partnered with Nashville SC to kick off its inaugural MLS season. Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale opened up the match with a Nashville Soccer Club customized Gibson guitar, playing what the club branded as the ‘Gibson Riff’. Take a look above.

According to NSC, the ritual will now be a fixture at home matches – showcasing different artists riffing on a guitar throughout the season. The guitar Hale played for this match was a 1968 Gibson Les Paul Hero, which was customized specifically for Nashville SC.

Yesterday (3 March), Nashville was hit by a tornado, which claimed the lives of 25 and destroyed many buildings. Hale, who lives in Nashville, sent support to those affected, and wrote about the loss of Nashville music venue basement east in an Instagram post:
