Watch the video for Marylin Manson’s creepy cover of God’s Gonna Cut You Down

The musician gives his characteristic take on the traditional folk song.

Marylin Manson has released a new music video, a cover of the traditional folk song God’s Gonna Cut You Down. You can watch the video above.

The video is directed by Tim Mattia, who has directed videos for The Killers, Sam Fender, and the 1975. It features Manson in fittingly gothic settings for the creepy tone he’s brought to the song.

The traditional song has seen countless covers, notable from Johnny Cash on American V and Odetta on Odetta Sings Ballads and Blues. Bill Landford and the Landfordairs’ version was heavily sampled by Moby for his song Run On.

Manson’s latest album, Heaven Upside Down, was released in 2017. The single is being released on picture disc, featuring a watercolour artwork by Marylin Manson himself. Preorder here.
