Matt Berry has announced his new album Phantom Birds, and has released the first single Something In My Eye. Take a listen to the track above.

Speaking about the single release, Berry said: “It’s a song about putting a brave face on. Telling everyone you’re fine, when in reality you’re really not at all. Not necessarily something you always hear from a male perspective.”

Berry is known for, alongside his music, his extensive comedy acting career, with roles in The IT Crowd, Toast Of London, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, and most recently What We Do In The Shadows.

His latest musical effort was as part of Josh Homme’s (Queens Of The Stone Age) latest Desert Sessions record, alongside a diverse lineup which included members of Royal Blood, ZZ Top and Warpaint.

The album releases 18 September, and can be preordered here.
