Neil Young makes his Archives free for the holiday season
Time to gather round the fire with some Fireside Sessions.

Neil Young has announced that his Archives site, which normally is a paid subscription service, will be free across the holiday period.
The Archives’ catalogue, which normally requires a $2-a-month or $20-a-year subscription fee to access, includes his newly-released Archives Volume II (1972-1976). There’s also all episodes of his quarantine live-show series Fireside Sessions, and his soon-to-be-released film Timeless Orpheum.
Young wrote on his Archives site: “We are doing well here and feeling good. We hope you are well, too. Our hearts go out to all those families touched. If you are locked down, we are here for you with hours of listening and cruising around through the years in movies. We want you to enjoy what we have to share at NYA. It’s my music and our lives. Peace.”
Earlier this week, Neil Young dropped his lawsuit against Donald Trump for his use of the songs Devil’s Sidewalk and Rockin’ In The Free World across his re-election rallies. Earlier this year, Young and several other artists condemned the use of their music at Trump’s re-election rallies. Linkin Park, John Fogerty and the estate of Tom Petty each sent cease-and-desist orders to the campaign.
Young has been a vocal critic of the projected-to-be-outgoing President, even going so far as to rewrite his 2006 tune Lookin’ For A Leader in July this year to reference the Trump administration.
