Paul McCartney has announced a reissue of his 1997 record Flaming Pie. The new version of the album comes as a box set, containing not only a remaster of the record but an extensive collection of demos, acoustic version of songs, artwork, photographs and other reproduced ephemera such as notebooks and handwritten lyrics.

The album came about after McCartney’s work on 1995’s The Beatles Anthology, which, as he said in a statement about the reissue’s release “reminded me of The Beatles’ standards and the standards that we reached with the songs. So in a way, it was a refresher course that set the framework for this album.”

Take a look at the virtual unboxing of the set below.

The reissue is limited to 3,000 copies worldwide, and ships in a cloth-wrapped two-piece collectors box. If that’s a little much, the record will also be available on 2LP, 3LP, CD or digital. All are released 31 July 2020. Preorder here.
