Paul Simon has sold the publishing rights to his entire song catalogue to Sony Music Publishing.

The deal covered music from Simon’s illustrious career that spans over 60 years, from his time in Simon & Garfunkel to his solo era. Neither Sony nor Simon disclosed a figure for the deal.

Songs acquired by Sony include such hits as The Sound Of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs. Robinson, The Boxer, I Am A Rock, Homeward Bound and Still Crazy After All These Years.

In a statement, Simon said that he was “pleased” to have Sony be the future custodian of his music. “I began my career at Columbia/Sony Records and it feels like a natural extension to be working with the Publishing side as well,” he said.

Jon Platt, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Publishing, added that to represent Simon’s music was an “incredible honour” for the company.

“Paul Simon is a masterful, once-in-a-lifetime songwriter whose remarkable body of work has generated an enduring influence on our culture and consciousness,” he said in a statement. “[His] music resonates deeply as a cultural touchstone for people all over the world.”

Simon is the latest in a growing list of music stars to sell the rights to their back catalogues. Last December, Bob Dylan sold his entire catalogue to Universal Music for an estimated $300million. Neil Young parted with half of his catalogue in a deal with music licensing upstart Hipgnosis for $150million. And David Crosby sold his catalogue to Iconic Artists Group.
