Paul Stanley thinks KISS should retire: “We can’t do it forever”
“If we were just another band in t-shirts and trainers, we could do this into our 80s.”

Paul Stanley has spoken out about the future of KISS, sharing his thoughts on the band’s eventual retirement.
Stanley told Download in an interview on Wednesday (2 June) that he’s thought about when the band will wipe off the makeup and hang up the leather capes to call it a day.
“If we were just another band in t-shirts and trainers, we could do this into our 80s,” he said. “But we’re running around on stage with 40 or 50 pounds of gear […] and we do it well, but I also know that we can’t do it forever.”
He continued: “So before it reaches that point, I think it’s better that we stop. I take it really seriously, so the idea of being able to do this without end, it’s just not possible.”

Stanley’s comments echoed ones he made in March, when he told Rolling Stone the chances of the band returning to the stage were “dim at best”. Despite this, Stanley is optimistic for the band to complete their End Of The Road Tour as soon as touring becomes safe again.
In other KISS news, a biopic on the glam-rock band produced by Netflix is reportedly nearing the close of a deal. It will be produced in close collaboration with Stanley and bassist Gene Simmons.
