Pavement will be returning to the stage to enchant fans in the UK and Europe on a reunion tour next year.
A press release confirmed that all five members of Pavement – Stephen Malkmus, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannberg, Mark Ibold, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West – will reunite to play their first shows since 2010.
The tour kicks off in the UK next October with dates in Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and four nights at London’s Roundhouse. The band will then head to Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Aarhus, Bremen, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam and Dublin. The band has yet to announce when tickets go on sale.
As previously confirmed, Pavement will headline Primavera Sound 2022 in both Barcelona, Spain and Porto, Portugal. The band had been scheduled to play the festival back in 2020 and then 2021 before both events were called off due to COVID-19.
Pavement fans seemingly have more to look forward to from the band: the announcement suggests more “worldwide reunion dates” to come, as well as “a celebration of one of the band’s canonical and not-yet-reissued LPs” – likely alluding to 1999’s Terror Twilight, the only of their studio albums not yet reissued.
