Phish’s Trey Anastasio and Tedeschi Trucks Band united for a special cover of Little Wing at the 2019 Lockn’ Festival, which took place in Arrington, Virginia this past weekend.
Opening with the familiar abridged introduction, the performance featured guitar licks by Derek Trucks and Anastasio, vocals by Trucks and his wife Susan Tedeschi, as well as an all-out jam towards the end.
The group’s rendition of Little Wing was a spin on a vintage cover of the famed Hendrix tune by Derek And The Dominos. The 70s blues-rock group had covered Little Wing in their 1970 double-LP, Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs.
