Phoebe Bridgers named as one of TIME’s Women Of The Year
The singer and guitarist has been honoured for her work in the music industry and stance on abortion rights in the US.

Phoebe Bridgers has been named as one of TIME Magazine’s Women Of The Year for her musical successes and her outspoken nature on political issues.
In a new article shared by TIME, it lists Bridgers’ achievements as her four Grammy nominees, including Best New Artist, back in 2021, and for leading her own record label, Saddest Factory Records, which boosts the careers of artists such as MUNA and Claud.
It also celebrates her work in Boygenius alongside Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus – the trio are set to release a new album, The Record, at the end of March.
Bridgers was also honoured for her honest writing on mental health, which she addressed in her conversation with TIME, saying: “The more honest I am, the world just keeps opening up for me.”
The vocalist and guitarist, known for her sparkling Danelectro baritone, has been a prominent voice in supporting the right to legal and safe abortions in the US. At Glastonbury Festival last year, Bridgers called on her audience to chant “Fuck the Supreme Court”. Her strong political stance has led to backlash, with Bridgers recalling how she saw a parent and child leave one of her gigs due to speaking on the issue.
“I hope it makes a difference,” she said in the interview. “I hope those parents are going to lose the battle with that kid’s opinions and belief systems.”
