Queen + Adam Lambert have shared an incredible live performance video of Somebody To Love, filmed at 2016’s Isle Of Wight Festival and taken from the band’s latest release Live Around The World.

During the performance, Lambert made a callback to Freddie Mercury, pulling off the late singer’s signature call-and-response interaction with the crowd at the climax of the song. Take a look above.

Lambert, who has been performing in concert with Queen since 2011, spoke on the challenges of performing the legendary rock band’s music.

“Some of Queen’s songs are just so vocally athletic and physically demanding”, the 38-year-old singer said in a statement. “For example, The Show Must Go On is certainly demanding, Who Wants To Live Forever goes from zero to 99. Somebody To Love is really intense and big.”

Freddie Mercury is widely regarded as one of the greatest singers in rock, whose shoes aren’t easy for just any vocalist to fill. It’s fortunate, then, that Queen drummer Roger Taylor considers Lambert to be “the best singer around”.

“Adam has the ability to sing anything and everything we throw at him,” said Taylor. “There’s nothing he can’t handle. Our songs are big and theatrical and Adam fits that easily.”

He added: “His range is staggering.”

Live Around The World collects live tracks personally selected by Taylor, Lambert and guitarist Brian May from more than 200 performances. The record marks the first major activity from the band since May suffered a heart attack earlier this May.
