Queens Of The Stone Age have reportedly enlisted the talents of Dave Grohl and Billy Gibbons for their next record.

Gibbons broke the news in a recent interview with eonmusic, in which he detailed his involvement in a QOTSA recording session last month. The ZZ Top founder also confirmed that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was part of the QOTSA sit-in. It won’t be the first time that Grohl has teamed up with the Californian rockers, having performed on 2013’s …Like Clockwork after the departure of drummer Joey Castillo.

Gibbons also teased a potential album release date. “[Josh Homme’s] completed it. I think that he said he wants to put it out Halloween. It’ll be good,” he said.

It remains to be seen what the extended QOTSA cast will sound like, and how the new record will match up to the groovy, Mark Ronson-produced Villains.
