Another week, another rousing cover from Robert Fripp and his wife Toyah. Yesterday (2 May), the couple shared the latest episode of their Sunday Lunch video series, covering Heart’s Barracuda – watch it above.

For the cover, Toyah went all-out in a mermaid costume, while second guitarist Sidney Jake donned his gold mask once again.

“The Kitchen madness continues with performance straight from the ‘Heart’,” the video was captioned. “Toyah, Robert and mysterious stranger Sidney Jake rock out to Barracuda. Look out for the Mermaid!”

Last week (25 April), the trio shared their cover of the classic Hawkwind tune, Silver Machine.

Fripp and Toyah launched their weekly video series last year during lockdown and have since covered tunes from The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Britney Spears, Judas Priest and more.

In March, Fripp touched on the couple’s intentions with the video series, saying, “Performers have a responsibility to perform and at this particular time to keep people’s spirits up.”

He told Rolling Stone: “This is a very English cultural tradition. Essentially, when things are really bad in England, what you do is begin laughing and do silly things. A good reference point is the Ministry of Silly Walks on Monty Python. Now it’s, ‘Robert puts on a tutu and dances to Swan Lake at the river’s edge with his wife.’ So I have followed my wife’s sense and vision of these things.”
