While Robert Fripp is away on tour with King Crimson, his wife Toyah has been powering on solo with song covers in an off-shoot to the couple’s Sunday Lunch series. In this week’s upload, Fripp reacted to his wife’s cover of The Doors’ Light My Fire.

The fifth episode of the Love Letters series was uploaded to YouTube yesterday (5 September) with the caption: “Robert Fripp is touring the USA with King Crimson and Toyah is home alone. Toyah is keen on setting the ‘night on fire’ across the Atlantic in a new Love Letter.”

The US leg of King Crimson’s Music Is Our Friend tour is set to wrap in Washington, DC on 11 September, and we may see Fripp return to Sunday Lunch soon.

However, the band will hit the road again later this year. On 27 and 28 November, King Crimson will take the tour to Japan with back-to-back shows at Tokyo’s International Forum.

So far, Toyah’s solo covers have included Because The Night by Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith, Wicked Game by Chris Isaak, and I Touch Myself by Divinyls.

In another episode of the series, Fripp took Toyah on a virtual backstage tour of King Crimson’s concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
