Watch: The Rolling Stones release music video for Scarlet, with a drunk Paul Mescal
The song appears on the Goats Head Soup reissue, due out 4 September.
The Rolling Stones have shared an official music video for Scarlet, the recently unearthed collaboration between the band and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recorded in 1974.
The video stars actor Paul Mescal, most known for portraying Connell Waldron in the Irish drama, Normal People. Take a look above.
Scarlet is one of three previously unheard tracks included in the extensive reissue of the Stones ’ Goats Head Soup, due out 4 September. The other two tracks include All The Rage and Criss Cross, the latter serves as the release’s lead single.
Originally released in 1973, Goats Head Soup is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed Exile On Main St. and was recorded in Jamaica, Los Angeles and London. The reissue of the 10-track album includes brand new mixes for 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos.
The deluxe edition of the record will also include Brussels Affair, a 15-track live album featuring the Stones’ 1973 set in Belgium, part of the tour to support Goats Head Soup. It was mixed by famed engineer Bob Clearmountain, who also worked on the Stones’ 1981 LP, Tattoo You.
Earlier this week, The Rolling Stones also announced their plans to release Steel Wheels Live, a concert film centred on the band’s 1989 show in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It featured guest performers Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker and members of Guns N’ Roses. The programme was available as a pay-per-view program at the time, but will be released to a number of formats, both digital and physical, on 25 September.
