Ruben Wan’s much-anticipated debut EP has officially landed. Chapter One: Guitar is available to stream on most major platforms now.

The six-track EP opens with Coffee Or Tea, a tune Wan shared on YouTube last month. See the full track list below:

  1. Coffee Or Tea
  2. Daydreaming
  3. Happy sad
  4. Rose
  5. Hope
  6. Fleeting – EP Version

Wan told Guitar.com in a forthcoming interview that he made a conscious decision to produce the record using only guitar sounds. For pedals, Wan employed only a single Donner chorus pedal, which he ordered from Amazon.

“It’s chapter one. I wanted to close off this chapter properly and didn’t want it to be tainted with anything else,” he said. “I’m known to play over hard beats, harmonise over singers; I do a lot of things with my guitar.

“But releasing a whole EP of only guitar is significant to me because guitar is what kept me going through all seven years in Los Angeles. My instrument and me was what defined my adulthood.”

Wan is also selling his official transcription of the record as a digital download. The $20 purchase includes a Guitar Pro file, PDF digital guitar tabs and music notation for all the guitar parts in the album.

Ruben Wan is a Panama-born guitarist based in Los Angeles, California. He rose to prominence through social media platforms, gaining a following for the guitar-playing videos he uploaded to Instagram and YouTube.
