Sammy Hagar announces a 2020 tour alongside Whitesnake

Former Montrose and Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar, along with his supergroup backing band The Circle, has announced a joint tour with Whitesnake, kicking off in summer 2020.

The Circle is completed by fellow Van Halen alumni Michael Anthony on bass, guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer Jason Bonham (son of John). The band released their debut studio effort, Space Between last year. Whitesnake also released their 13th studio album, Flesh & Blood. Support on the tour will be provided by Night Ranger.

In a statement about the announcement, Sammy Hagar said: “I love some friendly competition onstage and that’s exactly what this is going to be. David [Coverdale, Whitesnake frontman] and I have nothing but the highest respect for one another, but we would also like to blow the other guy off the stage! Add in Night Ranger, and the fans will have one hell of a night of music.”
