Gibson TV has premiered a new episode of its The Songbook series, which features artists from around the world giving stripped-down acoustic performances. The latest show features guitarists Steven Brodsky and Adam McGrath from the band Cave In – take a look above.

The pair give an emotional performance of the song Shake My Blood, taken from Cave In’s latest album Final Transmission. The record is especially personal, having been completed after the death of Cave In’s founding bassist Caleb Scofield.

Brodsky said of the releases at the time: “The song Shake My Blood was my first opportunity to express what I was feeling about the whole situation. It’s a mix of extreme grief, frustration and anger. I was trying to do something to gain the clearest answer about whatever the next move might be.”

Brodsky and McGrath said in a joint statement of the above episode: “It was very cool of Gibson to have us perform an acoustic version of a Cave In song. We even snuck in part of a Joe Walsh song that day, jamming fireside in a canyon in Los Angeles last fall. As fans of sixties and seventies California folk/country/psych, the location and vibe was right up our alley.”

The series is filmed on location in Laurel Canyon. Find out more at gibson.com.
