Sharon Osbourne has announced that Ozzy’s new album is slated to arrive in January 2020. It will be Ozzy’s first solo album since 2010’s Scream.

Sharon recently went on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, where the topic of Ozzy’s new album came up amidst discussions of the Black Sabbath singer’s health setbacks. From a bad flu that spiralled into pneumonia to a tragic fall that dislodged metal rods in his body, Ozzy has had it rough this year.

“He’s getting there. He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he’s getting there,” she said in the interview. “He’s just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January.” According to Sharon, the whole recording process for the new album was a “huge morale boost” for the Prince of Darkness who felt “literally worthless”.

“[Ozzy] would watch different things on TV, and he was watching some band, a documentary on a band, and they were in their tour bus traveling,” Sharon said. “And he couldn’t watch it – he was near to tears, and he goes, ‘I miss my life. I want my life back.’ It’s been really hard on him. But he’s getting there. He’ll be back.”

Asked if Ozzy’s spirits “are okay”, Sharon responded: “Now they are. Now he’s done his album and it’s coming out and everyone’s really pumped about it, he’s happy – he is.”

Sharon also talked about Ozzy’s plan to get back on the road to complete “No More Tours 2”. The tour cycle kicked off in April 2018 but had to be postponed in January 2019, due to Ozzy’s ailments. “He has another year and a half to do. And these kids have held on to their tickets for over a year,” Sharon said. “And he’s gonna go back and he’s gonna fulfil that commitment – he’s gonna play those shows. And he’s not totally retiring, but the touring – he won’t do any more touring.”

Ozzy was recently in the spotlight for his collaboration with Post Malone on Take What You Want. The encounter put Ozzy in touch with producer Andrew Watt, who then worked with the Prince of Darkness on his upcoming album.
