The BBC Radio 1 Rock show recently played host to masked, nine-member metal band du jour, Slipknot, who brought hits old and new to a small audience in the BBC’s Maida Vale studio.

It’s not the normal setting for a Slipknot gig for sure, especially given the astronomical success of their latest record We Are Not Your Kind, the band are more used to stadiums than anything that could be described as ‘intimate.’ As frontman Corey Taylor says as he introduces the set in the above clip, “welcome to the weirdest gig we’ve ever played” – before the band launch into Unsainted.

For a more old-school streak, Slipknot also brought along Duality from their 2004 record Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Check out that performance below:

Slipknot capped off a busy 2019 (which included a mainstage appearance at Download UK) with the release of their latest music video, for the track Nero Forte from We Are Not Your Kind. The band also recently announced that Knotfest would return to America, bringing along A Day To Remember, Underoath and Code Orange for support.
