Steel Panther guitarist Satchel has criticised K-pop idols BTS as “the worst fucking shit” he’s ever heard.

In a new interview with Classic Rock (via Ultimate Guitar), Satchel described his first encounter with the popular group that happened while Steel Panther were out on tour. “Recently we went to Japan and I had a day to kill. I was trapped in my hotel room and somebody told me BTS had sold out the Raiders stadium where I live in Vegas,” Satchel said.

“I was like: ‘No fucking way can this be happening – and why?’ I had to figure it out. So I listened to two songs. It was the worst fucking shit I’ve ever heard in my life.”

In the same interview, the guitarist also discussed what music he’d like to have at his own funeral, sharing, “I’d like to have Steel Panther songs played at my funeral, because they’re pretty lighthearted and I don’t want to have a depressing funeral. So I hope they play Gloryhole really loud.”

Satchel recently made headlines when he opined that AC/DC’s Malcolm Young has a greater influence on the guitar world than Eddie Van Halen or Eric Clapton, stating, “Malcolm Young was probably the most influential guitar player in rock. If not, in guitar [music, in general].”
